The second session of the APEC SEN Recruitment, Career Development, and Job Transition (Expert Group 3) meeting was held on June 10, 2021, with maritime experts from around the globe to discuss the initiatives to facilitate the APEC SEN Conference with Job Fair. The discussions were made under the leadership of Expert Group 3 Vice-chair, Dr. Angelica Baylon from the Philippines.
After a thought-provoking opening plenary by Vice-chair Dr. Angelica Baylon, Dr. Seunghee Choi, APEC SEN Executive Director, commenced the discussion session by presenting upon the project update of the APEC endorsed project TPT 03 2020A) APEC SEN Maximizing Cross-Border Labor Mobility of Seafarers for the Digital Age.
Moving forward, Ms. Samar Hasan continued the discussion by sharing a presentation which provided insights into the Capacity Building Conference and Job Fair to be held in the near future as an initiative of the APEC endorsed project “TPT 03 2020A APEC SEN Maximizing Cross-Border Labor Mobility of Seafarers for the Digital Age.”
Last but not least, APEC SEN Secretariat played a presentation video delivered by Ms. Joannna Crisan from Informa CrewConnect Global, which provided a detailed and informative overview of the CrewConnect Global's initiatives, and explored potential collaborations within APEC SEN and CrewConnect Global to bring the job fair and conference into success.
